KAMPUS LEGAL
Terms of Service
Effective September 11, 2026
1. Eligibility
You must be legally permitted to use the Service and must provide a supported university email address when university verification is required.
You may not create an account using an email address that does not belong to you or attempt to bypass Kampus's university verification systems.
2. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for activity that occurs through your account.
You agree to provide accurate information where required and not impersonate another person, organization, university, administrator, or student group.
Kampus may restrict or suspend accounts when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these Terms, prevent abuse, or maintain the security of the Service.
3. User Content
Kampus allows users to create posts, comments, messages, event information, profile information, images, and other content.
You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content to Kampus, you grant Kampus a limited license to host, store, display, reproduce, and process that content as necessary to operate and improve the Service.
You are responsible for ensuring that content you submit does not violate applicable law or the rights of others.
4. Community Conduct
You may not use Kampus to:
- Harass, threaten, stalk, or target another person.
- Post unlawful, fraudulent, or intentionally deceptive content.
- Share another person's private or sensitive information without authorization.
- Spam users or repeatedly post disruptive advertisements or promotions.
- Attempt to access another user's account, private messages, or restricted administrative systems.
- Interfere with the operation, security, or availability of Kampus.
- Use automated systems to scrape, overload, or abuse the Service without permission.
5. Anonymous Content and Moderation
Certain Kampus boards allow users to post anonymously to other users. Anonymous display does not give users permission to violate these Terms.
Kampus may review reports, restrict content, remove posts or comments, and take other reasonable moderation actions when necessary.
Posts removed by an administrator may be retained in a restricted administrative archive for up to 60 days for moderation, abuse prevention, operational review, or dispute handling before permanent deletion.
6. Direct Messages
Kampus may allow users to send one-to-one direct messages. You may not use direct messages for harassment, spam, fraud, threats, or other prohibited activity.
Direct messaging is not available from anonymous posts where doing so would reveal or undermine the anonymous posting experience.
7. Events and Third-Party Links
Users, student organizations, or other parties may share events, meetups, promotional content, or external links through Kampus.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Kampus does not organize, endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for third-party events, organizations, websites, products, or services.
8. Independent Student Platform
Kampus is an independent student community and is not an official service of George Washington University or any other university unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Posts and comments represent the views of their individual authors and should not be treated as official university guidance.
9. Service Availability
Kampus may change, suspend, update, or discontinue features at any time. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted.
10. Account Deletion and Termination
Users may request account deletion through available account controls.
Some information may be retained temporarily where reasonably necessary for security, moderation, legal compliance, backup integrity, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution.
Kampus may suspend or terminate access for material or repeated violations of these Terms.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the extent permitted by law, Kampus is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Kampus does not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, safety, or completeness of user-generated content.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Kampus and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Kampus evolves. When material changes are made, the effective date shown on this page will be updated and additional notice may be provided where appropriate.
Continued use of Kampus after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Contact
Questions about these Terms may be submitted through the contact method made available by Kampus.
